Rare breeding waders of the Moscow region: distribution and numbers
نویسندگان
چکیده
Eleven wader species are included in the first version of the Red Data Book of the Moscow region. One of these species Jack Snipe Lymnocryptes minimus ceased breeding at the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century; three species, i.e. Oystercatcher Haematopus ostralegus, Wood Sandpiper Tringa glareola nd Greenshank T. nebularia breed in the Moscow region irregularl)5 as the region lies at the edge of their breeding ranges. The remaining seven species Redshank Tringa totanus (several humdred pairs), Marsh Sandpiper Tringa stagnalis (up to 150-200 pairs), Terek Sandpiper Xenus cinereus (up to 100 pairs), Ruff Philomachus pugnax (up to 150 pairs), Great Snipe Gallinago media (up to 100-150 pairs), Curlew Numenius arquata (70-90, but probably up to 100-110 pairs) and Black-tailed Godwit Limosa limosa (200-250 pairs) breed regularly in the Moscow region. The most threatened species are Great Snipe and Ruff; Curlew is less vulnerable.

Habitat suitability modeling of water birds and waders in Hamun wetland by by Maximum Entropy model
Climate change and human activities have increased negative pressure on natural ecosystems. Wetlands are such ecosystems that widely affected by these negative changes. Birds as a part of wildlife in a wetland have damaged by destruction of wetlands, so, a large group of them, are at risk of extinction. Habitat destruction in wetlands in arid and semi-arid areas has more negative effects on the...
متن کاملThe importance of the peatlands of the Upper Volga area as habitats for breeding waders
In the Tver region 31 wader species were recorded and of these, 19 species breed there, 11 species are considered rare and ten of these rare species breed in different peatlands. Golden Plover Pluvialis apricaria and Whimbrel Numenius phaeopus breed only on raised bogs, Marsh Sandpiper Tringa stagnatilis and Great Snipe Gallinago media breed only on fens. Ruff Philomachus pugnax, Redshank Tring...
متن کاملModelling of the spatial distribution of the rare plant Lilium ledebourii
The aim of this study was modelling the spatial distribution ofLilium ledebourii (Baker) Boiss. based on ecological characteristics, in order to predict potential habitats for conservation of a rare plant. Knowledge of the spatial distributions of rare and threatened species and the underlying ecological factors plays an important role in regional conservation assessments and development planni...
متن کاملEffect of Markers Effect Estimation Methods, Population Structure and Trait Architercture on the Accuracy of Genomic Breeding Values
This study aimed to investigate the effect of the method of estimating the effects of markers , QTLs distribution, number of QTLs, effective population size and trait heritability on the accuracy of genomic predictions. Two effective population sizes, 100 and 500 individuals, were simulated by QMSim software. A 100 cM genome including one chromosome was simulated where 500 SNPs and two diffe...

The objective of this paper was determining population and species diversity of water birds and waders in Gandoman wetland during one year from mid-September 2017 to mid-September 2018 using SDR-IV software. Result showed from 70 identified birds, 28 species were waterfowl and 42 species were waders. The largest population was belong to Fulica atra. Anatidae with 33.19 percent frequency was the...
